Teaching Philosophy
I believe each student is an individual who has different needs that must be met in order to succeed. I believe it is my job as an educator to give students the tools they need in order to succeed both in the classroom and beyond. In my classroom, students will be able to assume the identities of readers and writers. I will try my best to foster a life-long love of reading and writing in my students by caring for their needs and involving their interests into my curriculum. I will always work hard to make my classroom a safe environment for students to learn and grow as well as to foster students’ natural curiosity.

Classroom Management Plan
My classroom management plan is based upon expectations and relationships. My students and I will create expectations based upon the principle of respect. Respect for each other, for our time spent together, and for the space of the physical classroom will be the key guidelines for behavior in the classroom. Because I believe students are individuals who have different needs in order to succeed, there will be attention emphasized on differences in learning preferences, even down to the flexible seating that I hope to have in my classroom.
