Other Professional Experiences:
Assistant Teacher: Summer 2020, 2018, 2017: St. Odilia School: Knight Watch Summer Program
In the summer of 2020 I worked in the Knight Watch Summer Program as an assistant teacher at St. Odilia School in Shoreview, Minnesota. In this position, I taught STEM and art lessons to elementary aged students. In teaching such a variety of ages and skill levels at the same time, I differentiated each lesson in order to keep all students engaged. Beyond formal lessons, I led students in a variety of activities, keeping in mind each child's unique abilities and development level. I have also worked in this program before in the summers of 2018 and 2017 as an aide in the preschool program.
Tiny Tots and Little Tykes: Summer 2019: Head Teacher: West St. Paul
In summer of 2019, I worked as a head teacher at Tiny Tots and Little Tykes, a nonprofit daycare in West St. Paul. In this role I was able to teach in various age level classrooms, many times in multiple classrooms a day. I learned how to take action and learned how to deal with a lot of behavioral problems. I collaborated with coworkers and parents to help children develop skills both academically and socially.

University of Mary Writing Center Tutor: Fall 2018
During my sophomore year at the University of Mary I became a tutor in the Writing Center. In this experience I experienced how to work with struggling students, especially ESL students. I took a class in conjunction with tutoring where the professor taught different strategies for how to help provide students with the tools to improve their writing. These strategies have already helped me in working with students, especially ESL students, with their writing and they will continue to help inform my approach to teaching writing.
